Radiology Manager

Responsible for the general management of the Radio diagnostics and Medical Imaging department, for the organisation of all Radiology staff (Technicians, secretaries, porters and all other staff working in the Radiology department), for the management of Radiographic patient services and facilities, for equipment and for consumables. 

Responsible for maintaining and implementing the departmental policy and procedures together with the assigned clinical duties. 

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and their implementation thereafter. 
  • Coordinate the installation of new services and equipment. 
  • Ensure that the equipment is stored, used and services according to manufacturer's instructions with the support of the Biomedical Manager. 
  • To coordinate the training of respective colleagues for the proper use of equipment and carry out regular checks. 
  • To follow up with Bio-medical for maintenance contracts whenever necessary. 
  • Assist the condemnation committee in the disposal of obsolete equipment. 
  • Be available for overtime/extra work in case of emergencies. 
  • Report to management on daily basis. 
  • Demonstrate knowledge and application of C-Care mission, vision and values. 
  • Assume responsibility for patient care and safety to prevent unwanted accident. 
  • Ensure proper functioning of HIS, PACS and other related software within the department. 
  • Accomplishes radiology human resources objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counselling and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, preparing roster, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures. 
  • Ensure smooth operation of the department on the day-to-day basis. 
  • Meet Radiology operational standards by contributing information to strategic plans and reviews;  implementing production, productivity, quality-service standards; resolving problem; resolving problems; identifying system improvements. 
  • Represents the company in a positive and professional manner. 
  • Maintain patient's confidentiality at all times. 
  • Comply with C-Care policies and procedures and in particular infection control, safety and quality management. 
  • Any other cognate duties not mentioned above but which are in relation to the various daily activities of the Radiology department.
