C-Care is currently looking for a Patient Safety Lead to be base at Wellkin Hospital, Moka.
Reporting to the Head of Quality and Clinical Services, the selected candidate will play a critical role in developing, implementing and overseeing patient safety initiatives, policies, and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Work closely with clinical and administrative teams to promote a patient - centered approach to care that prioritizes safety.
-Collaborate with risk management, quality improvement, and infection control teams to create a comprehensive approach to patient safety.
-Establish mechanisms for collecting and analyzing patient safety data, including adverse events, near misses, and other safety-related incidents.
-Regularly review and analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and areas of concern.
-Generate insightful reports and presentations for executive leadership, identifying actionable recommendations for improvement.
-Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions:
-Lead or facilitate root cause analysis investigations for critical incidents and adverse events.
-Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to identify underlying causes and contributing factors and develop effective corrective and preventive actions.
-Stay current with local, state, and federal regulations related to patient safety and quality of care.
-Ensure the organization's patient safety practices align with regulatory standards and guidelines
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in healthcare, nursing, public health, or a related field. Master's degree would be an advantage.
Experience:
-Minimum of 10 years of experience in a healthcare setting, with at least 2 years dedicated to patient safety management.
Knowledge and Technical Competencies:
-Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct root cause analysis effectively.
-Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools
Behavioural competencies:
-Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
-Strong leadership and team-building abilities, with a demonstrated track record of fostering a culture of safety
